The theme for the VIII edition of FotoGrafia, the Rome International Festival, is "Declinations of Joy. Taking photographs, visions and portrayals". It arose from a desire to regain possession of photography as action and content, as well as the happiness and the emotions this generates and that at times are lost between the drama of reportage and the glamour of fashion photography. The heart of the festival is constructed within the spaces of Palazzo delle Esposizioni, in the Sale del Piano Alto and the Sala della Fontana. Here you will find the principle exhibitions, meetings, lectures and portfolios of ad hoc events. With a view to always extend openings to new photographic linguistic expression, this year the festival's most important exhibition, which was under the artistic direction of Marco Delogu, is a large photographic collection created via video projections and instillations that are linked to the theme of joy. Works are by international level artists, whom were selected from the many that answered the public call for proposal.
