Upon reaching its fourteenth edition, this festival has hosted the most representative groups of new ethnic music, from mediterranean to Afro-Cuban, from Balkan to Latin-American. The general project also pursues the objective of making the most of the food and- wine traditions of typical local products - in particular, oil and white artichokes - as well as promoting local farmhouse holidays, midst nature, gastronomy and culture. Alongside this is the active social involvement of the citizens of Pertosa, who are sustained by the Mida Foundation. The charm of the grottos, their hospitality and "creative" influence are renewed in the symbolism of the river that springs from them, the "Negro", precisely, that lends its name to the festival. Hence, the suggestion of the ling between its course, with its "karstic" route, the metaphor of popular culture and its dialectic relationship with modernity and other cultures, not only musical.
