Following in the footsteps of Rome, Paris and Brussels, Naples stages its own White Night - a series of events involving the entire city, including major museums, cultural organisations, sports centres and other public spaces. With a different theme every year, the White Night offers events ranging from visual arts and music to dance and theatre. Head north of the city centre to find performances from France and the Balkans, east for a mixture of Greek, Turkish, Lebanese, Syrian and Albanian cultures, and south for a bit of Israel, Palestine, Egypt, Libya and Tunisia. The west side is dedicated to Maghreb and the Iberian Peninsula, while Italian arts and traditions are scattered throughout the city.
