Engl - Stefano Bollani in Carioca in 19 july 2009, Naples
He conquered the appellative "the Benigni of jazz" for the poetry and sympathy he transmits. It an hard task to define Stefano Bollani, especially because it's difficult to sum him up into the classical canons of the musician. The polyhedric artist from Milan, praised in the United States and even in Japan, has collaborated with many artists of different musical genres. From classical music to pop/rock, from the electroacoustic experimentation to jazz. At the "Lo squardo di Ulisse" festival, Bollani presents Carioca, an original project in which he faces the less known repertoire of the Brasilian music, exploiting the authors of the choro and samba, like Pixinginuha, Edu Lobo, Ismael Silva, Nelson Cavaquinho, Chico Buarque and the songs of the new generation, such as Monica Salmaso and Ze' Renato.
