Engl - Palma Bucarelli from 26 june to 1 november 2009, Rome
Rome's National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art dedicates an exhibition to Palma Bucarelli, director and curator of the gallery from 1942 until 1975. Paintings, sculptures, graphics and photographs document her relentless activity in sustaining and promoting contemporary art. The exhibition is divided into several sections, covering not only Bucarelli's career but also her social life. Works by Kandinsky, Richter, Malevic, Fautrier, Moore, Klee, Baumeister and the likes remind visitors of some of the most important exhibitions she curated, while clothes, jewellery and other personal belongings give a glimpse of Bucarelli's social life.
