In its 15 years of history, MedFilm has dedicated special attention to the Mediterranean collecting and documenting the voices of the people representing the different cultures living on its shores. In 2009, the European Year of Creativity and Innovation, MedFilm Festival will celebrate its 15th anniversary. It will be a very special edition, which will undertake a Grand Tour starting from the shores of the Mediterranean and then go on to explore Europe's new territories, searching for new talents as well as great authors who redefine boundaries and establish new shores. MedFilm Festival 2009 will bring to Rome many international guests and a rich program of feature films, shorts and documentaries, some 150 titles, mostly in Italian première: this is a valuable opportunity to discover vital films that continue to give emotions and important confirmations. The Guests of Honor of the 2009 edition will be Morocco and France. The Moroccan cinematography is a young cinematography which is also imposing itself as a production model, whereas French cinematography is a good example of how to become both a laboratory and a creative breeding ground for the talents of the south. Among the collateral activities the main one will be the 2° Mediterranean Film Forum, which include the MedFilm Co-Production Forum. An important event open to international producers, sales agents and distributors active across Europe and the Mediterranean area, because we believe in the need to create as many opportunities as possible for them to meet and exchange ideas.
