The International festival of Ethnic music was created in 1995 to valorize the ancient and original traditions of the Vesuvian area. A travelling events that starts from Naples and expands itself into the cities of Portici, Ercolano, San Giorgio a Cremano, Torre del Greco, Torre Annunziata, Pompei, Castellammare di Stabia, Pomigliano d'Arco. The theme choisen for the XV edition is fire. The kermis is, therefore, dedicated to all those ethnic groups in which the relation with fire is sacred. Particular attention is given to the southern countries, especially those which are situated in a vulcanic area. The festival applies to a public interested in discovering the historical sites, natural landscapes, attracted by folk music concerts.
