Designed by Renzo Piano, the new Auditorium Parco della Musica is a huge cultural hub located in Rome's Flaminio district. It features three concert halls and an open-air arena, each designed with different acoustic-enhancing characteristics to suit various music genres. Surrounded by a sea of vegetation that leads to the adjacent Villa Glori, the Auditorium Parco della Musica comprises the 2800-seat Santa Cecilia Hall, ideal for large orchestral and choral symphonic concerts, the 1200-seat Sinopoli Hall (named after the Italian composer and conductor who died in 2001) and the Petrassi Hall, which hosts contemporary music and theatre performances as well as cinema. But that's not all, the structure is also home to three studios, an archaeological museum, displaying findings that were recovered during excavation works, and the Cavea, the Auditorium Parco della Musica outdoor arena which can hold up to 3000. The Hanging Garden, a 38 square metre outdoor area is the ideal chill out zone after frenetic concert-going. The venue also hosts dance performances, festivals, literary events and permanent and temporary art exhibitions, which take place in the newly built Auditorium Arte.
