The exhibition aims at explaining the change in tastes and style choices, starting in the years before Vanvitelli's arrival, called at Court for the new Royal Palace's projects, to the birth of the Neapolitan Republic in 1799. With a selection of works on loan by public and private collections, Italian and foreign, and materials distributed among the ex borbonic residences, the exhibition will be divided in different sections: the section dedicated to architecture will include projects and models realized by Vanvitelli for Caserta, but also material dedicated to architects, that, having been formed by him, have afterwards worked for the Borbons. For the painting sections the desire was to document the passage from the local tradition baroque to the late-baroque of some artists that worked for Caserta and other Vanvitelli's buildings. The event is part of the cultural proposals of "journey through emotions" created by Campania Region.
